Corporate Statement
In the late 1930s the Grandfather and
Father of the present owner arrived in England as refugees. The family has
always been involved in textiles specifically lace and embroidery which still
continues today.
The family had a long connection with Nottingham since the 1920’s, in lace and
it was due to this reason that both Grandfather and Father settled in Nottingham
when
S & E Strauss was incorporated and much later became Strella Fabrics Limited.
The management directs its attention towards designing for the high fashion
ladies sector with prominence in the middle to top end of the market. The design
team focus is on highly developed skills in various areas of handwork and
appliqué.
The company is especially interested in ‘Natural Form’ and wherever possible the
use of silk. It has flair in the creation for both traditional and contemporary
fabrics.
The influence of style and form can be
seen in part of the collection with a strong trend continuation of classical and
traditional design but recognising the ever changing environment and therefore,
connecting how young and old want to live, how people spend their leisure time,
furnish their homes and dress themselves, these new influences having importance
which we recognise.
The company maintains its standard of both quality and a commitment to service
with many people working in the company today having been employed for up to 40
years.
The World-Wide network of sales agents can be found on the following pages where
